Don't you love stores that have OPEN signs? It's simple. You know when they are open and ready for business--and when they are not. When a sign is flipped to the OPEN side or switched on to OPEN, you can walk right in. No questions asked.
I thought the other day when I saw an OPEN sign flickering at a gas station that it be grand if we all had open signs to show if/when we were OPEN, too.
Who hasn't encountered someone who is CLOSED to new ideas--or anything that smacks of something original and different? Or you meet someone you think you could really fall for--and his heart is CLOSED because of past hurt or fear? I only wish we could have YES, WE'RE OPEN--COME ON IN and SORRY, WE'RE CLOSED...BUT WE WILL OPEN AT... signs on our foreheads and our hearts (well, somewhere on our chests:) so that we'd know when it is opening or closing time in someone else's head or heart.
Then, when they are OPEN, we could approach with our own OPEN FOR BUSINESS signs, and stay away when they are not. Just a thought. I am OPEN to any comments about it:)
