Home![]() This is ME at the Printers Row Book Fair:) Welcome to my website! Here you will find information about ME, some of my works, my author visits and writing workshops, and my company called Pattycake Productions. If you have questions about any of these things, please email me by clicking on CONTACT ME (or you can email me directly at patricia@ Patricia:) PS Check out some of my BIG NEWS below and watch for my upcoming titles, etc., on my WORKS page. Some BIG NEWSHEY, HEY, IT'S ELECTION DAY! With all of the excitement swirling around the election, there's another piece of exciting news. My ELECTION DAY (Scholastic, Inc.) is flying off the shelves and online again. Check out the link below to see the buzz about the election--and my book. Hopefully, all of this will encourage little and BIG voters--to value (and exercise) this amazing right that we have! HEAD YOUR COVER WAGON WEST! On October 19, I had the pleasure of heading my covered wagon West (okay, my car, really!) and traveling along the Oregon Trail with fellow boy and girl pioneers at READ BETWEEN THE LYNES BOOKSTORE (Now, my one of my favorite bookstores--check out the link below!) in Woodstock, IL. Thanks, Arlene! I used a magical blow dryer to send boys, girls, parents, and some teachers back to 1852 and used a expandable timeline (aka paper from adding machine) that the kids helped me unroll as we traveled back and forth. I also served up some fun "trail mix" that we enjoyed during our wild journey. Happy Trails! If you'd like to join me on a similar journey or another type of author event, please click on my VISITS page for more details or email me. HIGH FIVES FOR HIGH FIVE! My recent poem entitled HIGH FIVE in HIGH FIVE Magazine (HIGHLIGHTS' PRE-K Magazine)is being reprinted in a showcase issue, and was made into a full-size poster to promote the magazine. It's all very exciting. HIGH FIVES all around! CAMP WRITE ON--WAS RIGHT ON! For four consecutive Tuesday evenings, from June 24-July 15, young writers (Grades 3 - 5) attended the first-ever CAMP WRITE ON! hosted by ME at The Book Stall in Winnetka, IL. The twelve enthusiastic writers and I explored topics including how to get ideas for writing, what to do with the ideas once you've got them, how to start writing and keep writing and "to write stories that will change our lives, our readers' lives...and change the world." Check out what The Bookstall had to say about CAMP WRITE ON! on my VISITS page. CELEBRATE WRITING! I had the honor and privilege of working with Arlington Heights School District #25's CELEBRATE WRITING program as its author-in-residence this school year. I worked with 140+ students to convince them that like Mark Twain said, "TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION." They found that out...and a whole bunch more. Read more about it SOON on my VISITS page. LET'S PLAY SOCCER SCORES A GOAL! My DK Reader LET'S PLAY SOCCER is a "featured" reader with Scholastic, Inc. Book Clubs/ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
